In announcing the award, the IMC said that FoodHawk.com has "excelled in all areas of judging criteria and represents a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism." This year's competition featured entries from 42 countries.
FoodHawk.com, which initially launched in Austin, TX, is now covering the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex and will soon expand into markets throughout Texas and across North America. The site was designed to become the de facto restaurant guide for diners, putting searchable menus and menu items at their fingertips. The site, built upon complex database technology, uses the latest user-friendly technologies to provide detailed information on food, ambiance and interesting facts, as well as links to online reservations and delivery services.
In fact, FoodHawk.com provides eight different methods for diners to locate specific restaurants, and it is the first site of its kind to offer searchable menus. Judges for the IMC awards included more than 30 worldwide web leaders representing organizations such as American Express, BearingPoint, Cadbury Schweppes, CBS, CNNmoney.com, CondeNast Publications, The History Channel, McCann Erickson Worldwide, Microsoft, The 7th Floor, MTV, New Line Cinema, The New York Times, OgilvyOne Worldwide, Time Warner, and Verizon.
